About Me

LENERG Energy Agency Nonprofit Llc. is a local public organization, operating at county level and located in Hajdú-Bihar county, in Debrecen, in the second largest city of Hungary. LENERG supports in increasing the usage of renewable energy sources and promotes energy efficiency.

The owners of the Agency are the University of Debrecen and Foundation for Development of University of Debrecen. LENERG’s team possess relevant experience in the field of project management and generation related to national and international programmes. The Agency works in close cooperation with public and private actors to achieve the common objective of promoting sustainable energy use in Hungary. LENERG was established as a cluster in 2008 with the aim of increasing energy efficiency and promotion of the use of renewable energy sources in the building sector by carrying out R&D activities and realization of development projects. In order to strengthen its market appearance, the cluster was transformed to LENERG Limited Company in 2011.

In 2015 the owners of the organization made a strategic decision on the establishment of LENERG Energy Agency Nonprofit Llc. The aim of the renewed organizational form is to strengthen the public role of LENERG, taking part in local development activities and to strengthen the competitiveness of the area via supporting the generation and realization of energy efficiency and renewable energy investments. Objectives will be achieved via extended application and dissemination of knowledge on the latest technologies, methodologies and financing possibilities for the actors of public and private sectors as well.

LENERG is strongly committed to increase its experience and knowledge, and to strengthen its international presence by taking part in international and interregional projects during the 2014-2020 period and beyond.

Ambitious goals will be achieved by ambitious staff members with relevant experience in project generation, project management at local and international level in the field of energy efficiency and renewable energy.

LENERG works with actors from the public and private sector, it cooperates with energy experts in order to offer the best service for its partners.

LENERG provides support in preparing strategies, action plans for local authorities and enterprises. It takes part in project generation and fulfils project management activities.

Social responsibility is essential part of LENERG’s activity. It increases energy awareness among of public authorities, promote the benefits of energy efficiency among companies and SMEs, and addresses citizens via organization of workshops, trainings, and gives information via personal consultation, periodical newsletter and social website.
