ActionAid Italy is member of the ActionAid international federation working with over 15 million people in more than 40 countries in Asia, Africa, Europe and Latin America to achieve social justice, gender equality and poverty eradication.
ActionAid Italy has a strong expertise in sensitizing, mobilizing and activating people in Italy and Europe on global and national issues. We have ten years’ experience in developing and implementing projects funded by different donors including the European Commission, national and international foundations, and corporate. We have an extremely solid and locally grounded network of supporters including more than 130.000 individual donors and several local activist groups throughout the country covering more than 50 Italian cities.
Our strategy identifies three main areas of work: Rights, Redistribution and Resilience.
Right to live free from violence: The physical and psychological integrity of girls, young and adult women is a prerequisite for achieving gender equality in the enjoyment of all rights; Right to inclusive citizenship: Migrants, refugees and asylum seekers are holders of economic, social, and political rights, regardless of their origin, income, age, or gender.
Redistribution of national wealth: Address national poverty and social marginalization; Redistribution of global resources: Build more inclusive and fair European and global systems.
Citizen participation: Strengthen participation of citizens in decision-making processes and public life; Accountability of institutions and the private sector: Improve institutional accountability in the allocation and use of public funds and resources.
