Technical faculty in Bor was established in the year 1961 as the Mining-metallurgical faculty with two departments – Mining and Metallurgy. The faculty belongs to the University of Belgrade, the oldest, the biggest and the most prestigeous state university in Serbia.
Studies and curriculums
The education process on Technical Faculty in Bor is realised on the following study programs, accredited in 2009 and 2013 (for detailed explanations and curriculums click on the name of the study program):
- Mining engineering (1st, 2nd and 3rd level of studies continued from 1961)
- Metallurgical engineering (1st, 2nd and 3rd level of studies continued from 1961)
- Technological engineering (1st, 2nd and 3rd level of studies continued from 1978)
- Engineering management (1st, 2nd and 3rd level of studies continued from 2002)
A part of enrolled students is financed from the budget of the Republic of Serbia while the rest of students pay studies by themself.
International collaboration
International cooperation is one of important activities of the Technical Faculty in Bor, as one of the fundamental postulates of high education and aspirations towards the creation of a unified platform of higher education in Europe and the world.
Modernity and the international harmonization of this study program confirms the cooperation of the Technical Faculty with many institutions in the world, Europe and the Balkans.
Technical Faculty in Bor is also a member of some networks, which have been formed recently. So, as a ‘product’ of one joint international project, the Resita Academic Network on „Entrepreneurship and Innovation“ has been established, involving universities from Austria, Albania, BiH, Bulgaria, Croatia, Germany, Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia. Also, a network, formed from different faculties teaching metallugical studies – BiH, Bulgaria, Croatia, Germany, Greece, Macedonia, Montenegro, Poland, Serbia, Slovenia, have been joined recently into METNET network.
The mobility at all levels of academic studies is achieved thanks to the participation of staff in several international projects, using the SSM – short scientific missions for teachers and students higher levels of study.
Due to the modern world trends in engineering profession and science, current active international cooperation reflected in a number of published papers and citations on the list of SCI and significantly affect the impact of research work of teachers at the Faculty.
Scientific journals and meetings
The Faculty is the publisher of two scientific journals: Journal of Mining and Metallurgy and Serbian Journal of Management.
The Journal of Mining and Metallurgy is an international journal for theory and practice of mining and ;Section A: Mining is classified as a national scientific review, while Section B: Metallurgy entered into the SCI Expanded list in 2009.
The review Serbian Journal of Management is an international journal for theory and practice of management science. According to MNTR it is classified into the category of national scientific reviews.
Every year the faculty organizes four scientific meetings –
International October Conference on Mining and Metallurgy,
Ecological Truth and Environmental Research,
May Conference on Strategical Management and
International Mineral Processing and Recycling Conference.
