Looking for Partnership
About Me

Since 1990, the Mainel Foundation has been working at the crossroads between solidarity and culture with a clear vision: to put people at the center, giving them the tools to lead their own development.

We believe in subsidiarity, transformative education and art as a catalyst for social change. We do this through international cooperation in countries with fewer opportunities and through cultural initiatives that stimulate deep reflection on the human being.

What do we do?

International Development Cooperation
With over 30 years of experience, Mainel has implemented impactful, community-based projects focused on training, education, and empowerment in countries across Latin America (Guatemala, Colombia, Bolivia, Peru), Africa (Senegal, Cameroon, Kenya, DR Congo, Egypt), and Asia (Thailand).

Cultural Activities
In Mainel we see culture as a tool for social development. Our cultural initiatives are diverse:

  • National Painting Prize (26 editions)

  • Contemporary Visual Culture Colloquiums (27 editions)

  • Shhcúchame” music appreciation course (4 editions)

  • Mainel Sounds concerts (2 editions)

Education and Awareness-Raising
We promote global citizenship through exhibitions on the SDGs, innovative awareness methodologies (like LEGO-based workshops), and Erasmus+ initiatives like PhotoDebates, which engages students in Spain, Italy, and Slovenia using photography to reflect on social issues.
Our Human Rights Congress (7 editions) covers themes such as disability, education, culture, and climate justice.

Social Action in Spain
Through campaigns like “We Help You to Help,” we support local social initiatives in partnership with other foundations, such as Fundación La Caixa.
