Cornwall Marine Network Ltd is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting the Marine sector in Cornwall via initiatives that improve profitability and encourage growth through quality and innovation. Originally set up in 2002, CMN has grown to support more than 350 member businesses, including marine leisure, commercial maritime and marine renewable industry.
At its regional level, CMN helps the industry by increasing skills in line with future industry needs, identifying specific training needs, and ensuring that training products are developed to meet marine businesses’ needs at an affordable cost. CMN provides a wide range of activities including marketing coaching and campaigns, developing business skills as well as encouraging the next wave of skilled workers through its marine academy that works with local schools and delivers its innovative apprenticeship programme.
CMN has a reputable track record in European projects as a lead coordinator or partner across a wide range of funding programmes including transnational (Interreg, Erasmus+) and structural funds (ERDF and ESF). Previous transnational projects include Channel Marine Academy (lead partner), Traditional Maritime Skills and MERiFIC (Interreg IVa), Nautisme Espace Atlantique (Interreg IVb) and SERFA (Erasmus+, coordinator).
