We carry out different lines of research:

1. Technologies of olive oils production and characterization
2. Characterization, use and exploitation of byproducts from olive groves, mills, extractors and refineries
3. Physical-Chemical and sensory characterization.
4. Use of technological coadjuvants in the production process.
5. Treatment of liquid effluents from mills.
6. Use of effluents in production of energy compounds.
7. Biotechnology of microalgae.
8. Treatment of waste water.
9. Hydrolysis and fermentation of lignocellulosic materials.
10. Gases absorption in systems with chemical reaction

We have several projects in progress:

• Modelling and control of olive pomace rotatory dryers.
• Biofuels production using olive stones and olive tree pruning debris.

Moreover, we want to launch new projects. One of them is the assessment of olive tree leaf as a nutritional ingredient in the diet of small ruminants.
