Festivals bring people together and foster a sense of community and belonging. By organizing a festival that promotes environmental protection, we can engage with local communities in meaningful conversations and activities aimed at addressing pressing environmental issues, building solidarity, and empowering individuals to take action. More in particular, this is more than a zero-waste festival. It grasps the opportunity to boost the creative industry in both countries having the festival as main promoter. First with the creative reuse of waste materials and secondly, by initiating parallel events for creators, students, enterprises and individuals who are directly involved in the creative industry. Participants have a rich cultural heritage and both maintain a deep connection with the natural environment. This project will celebrate environmental protection and can serve as a space for cultural exchange, where participants can come together to share traditional knowledge, practices, and values related to sustainability and stewardship of the land but also to use the festivals as a focal point for the initiation of creative industries dialogue and action.
