PROJECT
FINISHED
The international youth exchanges are offered to young people who are situated in the transition between school and work and thus in a phase of orientation and learning. Our objectives are to support the young people in their personal, social and intercultural development and to teach them more about the vocational education and training system of each country. After the exchanges the young people are more mature and able to make reflected decisions concerning their personal and career path.
We organized two youth exchanges with 12 young people from Wroclaw, Poland, and 12 people from Wiesbaden, Germany, between 16 and 25 years of age. The first exchange took place in spring 2015 in Wiesbaden, the second in summer 2015 in Wroclaw. The exchanges included participants with fewer opportunities as well as those with special needs.
The international youth exchanges were accompanied by trained and skilled employees. Before the exchanges the participants have been well prepared by the employees and a regularly reflection of the program during and after the exchanges took place.
The program points were carefully selected eventful and leisure educational activities. The activities aim at the gain of personal, social and intercultural competences and introduce in vocational education and training system of each country. Activities were e.g. city rally, collective visit of the market in town and a collective meal, business and vocational explorations, intercultural evening.
Altogether, we seek for an additional offer to improve the personal and social competences and the employability, especially for young people with fewer opportunities and special needs. In the sense of a best practice project, the integration of the international youth exchanges in vocational preparation training measures were proved and we made good experiences so far. Thus, the project contribute to the improvement of the transition management and the vocational orientation at local, regional, national and international levels. We also plan further exchanges in 2016.
