Media and most of all new media are taking a significant place in lives of the youth. Media are becoming their way of expression, socializing tool and a source of information, which strongly form their point of view at the World and reality. Media active on internet are becoming a tool for disinformation spreading, half-truths and hateful statements against the members of ethnical groups, minorities or others. An example of these negative phenomena is the refugee crisis. Internet was full of materials with the aim to urge the public to hate and defame refugees. This leads to the xenophobia and extremism. NGO Inex Slovakia and the other partner organizations have identified a need to give competencies to their youth workers and youth leaders, which allow them to adapt intercultural education on those new questions. The activities will be adapted to experiences and needs of the participants. The result of the project except the participants with new abilities will be an electronic report, which will describe the course, used methodologies, performed activities and conclusion. The publication could be used as a guide for preparation of activities, which support intercultural and media education in international projects based on methods of non-formal education. The main impact of the project is on youth workers. Gained abilities will help them to create activities for basic themes of training independently, to attract new groups of youth and involve them into enlightenment of issue. Secondary impact is on partnering organizations and their target groups. This group consists of youth, who will have a chance to gain new media and intercultural competencies, and actively participate on the thoughts of tolerance and intercultural understanding.
