YW - Developing competencies to respond to changing youth (work) context and extremisation

The training course project "Developing competencies to respond to changing youth (work) context and extremisation" will bring 33 participants from Norway, Lithuania, Latvia, Portugal, Poland, Ukraine, Belarus and Armenia for a 6 day training course on regional youth policy development to Lithuania April 2-7, 2016. The project will gather various target groups: youth workers, municipal youth specialists, youth work developers, aiming to assure better youth workers education and preparation to work in the changing contexts - political priorities, youth needs and problems, financial frameworks, radicalisation. With this project we aim to:- reflect on changing youth policy agenda and priorities in Europe, "Paris declaration" and shift from youth (un)employment; - create better understand trends within society and how to keep relevance of youth work;- develop advanced open youth work skills and inter-cultural sensitivity;- understand and deal with extremisation of young people: nationalist, leftist, religiously motivated movements;- develop Online youth work skills and positive attitude towards that;-shape new structures and methods for youth participation;The methodology of the training course will be based on principles of experiential learning, developing skills and attitudes of participants, taking into account their previous experiences as well as providing with new experiences and inputs from existing international practice in the field of youth policy implementation. Each activity will be based on methods of Non formal education. Participants will be learning in groups discussions, during practical tasks, inputs, simulations, mapping exercises, practical tasks. Working in National and mixed groups.After the training course: improvement of youth workers education and training, cross-sectoral cooperation at municipal, municipal and state level.
