Youthcamp of the Cultural Villages 2014
Start date: Jun 17, 2014, End date: Oct 17, 2014 PROJECT  FINISHED

YOUTHCAMP OF THE CULTURAL VILLAGES OF EUROPE The organisation of the Cultural Villages of Europe organizes youth exchanges since the year 2000. There are twelve villages in different countries in Europe that are participating and each year the exchange takes place in a different village. In the summer of 2014 the chess village of Ströbeck, invites 72 young people and group leaders between the age of 13 and 30 from all over Europe to get to know the people, the environment and, most of all, the culture in the area. The participants will fill a week with creative workshops, trips and local events. One of the highlights is a feast for the participant as well as the local inhabitants. This feast will be accompanied by traditional food from the different villages and the presentation of the workshop results. The camp's theme will be 'communication – so close, yet so far', as well as creativity and culture, since these are important aspects in the lives of youngsters. The goal is to reach personal development, intercultural learning, participation and, of course, having a lot of fun. The countries involved are Hungary, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Greece, Spain, Italy, Austria, Denmark, the Netherlands, Slovakia and Germany.
