Youth Opens Europe

The EVS project "Youth Opens Europe" involve three volunteers from Germany, France and Belgium and is result of cooperation between four organizations hosting/coordinating organization from Ukraine and sending organizations from Germany, France and Belgium. Project activities will take place in the city of Sumy over a period of 9 months(01/12/2012-01/09/2013). The primary objective is the exchange of information and experience between four different European cultures; Germany, France, Belgium and Ukraine. By joining European Volunteers with Sumy Regional Youth Euroclubs, we hope to develop solidarity and cross border relationships between Ukrainian youth and their European neighbours. Together they will learn to celebrate the broad diversity that exists in Europe, and help to strengthen the way to a larger, more encompassing European Union. Implemented activities: participating in and leading Euroclubs involving local school youth focused on promoting European values, active citizenship, civic responsibility, community service, teaching leadership skills to youth and providing them with knowledge about EU, European integration, what it means to be European citizen; promotion of cultural diversity and breaking stereotypes about home countries of volunteers in the local community; promotion of voluntary service among local youth; strengthening the Sumy Network of Euroclubs. Methods: leading discussion groups and intercultural workshops; workshops on EU issues, project design, management and implementation; facilitating shared information and collaboration between organizations; conducting native language clubs; development of future EVS opportunities for Ukrainian youth.
