The “Youth Network” project’s primary aim was to develop European - African partnerships in order to consolidate cross-continental dialogue policies in the area of youth volunteering (EVS in particular), focused on reaching the Millennium Development Goals. Branching its activities relative to three specific objectives, the “Youth Network” project developed the “Youth Network” online dialogue platform between youth organizations in Romania, Great Britain, Ghana and Zimbabwe, with the aim of generating future EVS projects; it raised the capacity to implement EVS projects on a cross-continental level with a focus on reaching the Millennium Development Goals for the “Youth Network” partners; it empowered over 80 youth workers from the partner countries for engaging in cross-continental voluntary actions. These objectives were reached as part of a strategy of training and networking, by means of activities carried out employing methods specific to non-formal education and compatible with means of life-long learning for adults. The project span a year (November 1st 2012 – October 31st 2013) and the activities developed had 4 different venues on 2 continents: Arad (Romania), London (Great Britain), Accra (Ghana), and Harare (Zimbabwe). These same countries are the countries of origin for the 4 promoters of the project: Fundatia Pro Prietenia Arad (The Friendship Foundation – Romania), Young Muslims Advisory Group (UK), New Life Foundation (Ghana) and Regional Centre for Social Responsibility (Zimbabwe).
