Youth for heritage - Jeunesse pour le patrimoine
Start date: Jan 1, 2016, End date: Dec 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The Youth for heritage project is a multi-activity project that revolves around a seminar of youth workers and youth exchange (+ planning visit). It is bilateral for this first edition, in partnership with the association Archeoclub Italia di Campobello di Licata, Sicily. This project is part of a particular French context: the inclusion of the Cave Decorated Pont d'Arc in the UNESCO World Heritage list. The main issue is that of "desecrating" the notion of heritage by promoting accessibility to all young people but also their active participation as provided in the Fribourg Declaration (art.3c) and the Faro Convention (art. 12). This is to involve young people themselves in the active design of appropriate tools and cultural mediation methods. To do this, youth professionals and cultural mediation also need to examine their practices and mutually strengthen their skills in the field of active teaching. The meeting practices and youth visions and Italian and French professionals will take back and intercultural enrichment. The first activity to be held in Italy in Campobello di Licata, will be the seminar youth workers. It will bring together 12 French youth workers and 12 Italians for 5 days. Note that each of the two partner groups will be made up half of youth workers and half of cultural mediators in connection with the youth in order to deepen the reflection on the use of non-formal education in the transmission heritage and create sustainable links between these actors. The second activity will be the advance planning visit. it seemed essential to propose this visit to completely detach the seminar of the Youth Exchange and to be able to concentrate, during the seminar on methodological issues, exchange of practices and tools creation. So two days will be devoted to preparing exchange participants by two Italian and two French participants. The third business, which will be the youth exchange will take place in France in Balazuc (Ardèche). It will bring together nine French and nine young Sicilian youth for ten days and gradually bring together young people to create their "ideal visit," they will share at the end of the stay to an audience made up of tourists but also facilitators and 'elected from the territory of southern Ardèche. This project marks the beginning of a Franco-Italian partnership which aims to enrich new partners and new thinking around the notion of heritage education, in conjunction with UNESCO and its education programs.
