Regional Studies Center will bring together 36 young people from EU and Eastern Partnership states to exchange ideas, share knowledge and skills, discuss and debate about gender and gender roles in the fairy tales and stories. The Youth exchange entitled “Storify Gender” is aimed at raising awareness on gender and gender-related issues by breaking gender-related stereotypes and changing negative gender roles in the stories and fairy tales.The objectives of the exchange include:• introducing the participants to gender concepts, the importance of gender,• making a format for exchanging ideas and reflecting on gender equality, gender stereotypes and gender roles,• creating a platform for sharing the best practices and coming up with new innovative solutions,• motivating participants to act as multipliers of the exchange outcomes by organizing local events on the same topic,• promoting intercultural dialogue and raising positive awareness about each others culture, values and traditions.The main outcome of the exchange will be a publication where the participants will include the stories of their childhood by making the negative gender roles positive and breaking the gender stereotypes in the stories. The on-line publication will be intensively promoted through networks, websites and especially social media accounts of the partner organizations. The printed publication will also be shared among the partners with several copies.The exchange will be based on non-formal education methods, such as creativity sessions, discussions, participant-led workshops, theatre games, storytelling, photo-voice, video-shooting, reflection groups, evaluation sessions, etc.. The participants will be actively involved in each phase of the project.The exchange will take place on 24-31 March, 2014 in Tsakhkadzor, Armenia.
