Youth Enterprise Accelerator

The project assessed, tested and implemented entrepreneurship training for young adults (those 18 – 30 years) by using the developed “Youth Enterprise Accelerator” – a training methodology developed by One Planet Ventures and Ashford Place. The YEA pilot was 12 weeks long, targeted young entrepreneurs and included work placement and mentoring. Through the dedicated training course, young adults were in the position to implement their projects and companies in a sustainable and practical way, which helped them to realise their personal and professional ambitions, whilst being in a supportive environment. Results (Young People):Of the 55 participants trained, 35 (64%) went into self-employment or starting a company. 16 (29%) either found employment of went into further training and only 4 (7%) of the 55 young people have no solution at the end of the training period. Results (Trainers)All partners will continue to deliver courses built on the Business Mode Canvas (BMC), the ‘entrepreneurship methodology’ that this project was built around.Implementation of new incubators4 of the 6 partners involved plan to implement new incubators or new cohorts in existing incubators. In particular the French partner plans to implement other incubators in other 4 areas in France and transfer the enterprise incubator approach to 5 other Apprentis D’Auteuil partners (in Spain and Morocco initially, then in the Democratic Republic of Congo and further partner countries). One Planet Ventures (UK) is continuing to innovate on the Youth Enterprise Accelerator and is exploring an Erasmus+ project with new partners, whilst also continuing business incubation for young people in their locality (South London). The Ashford Place spin-off company (Youth Enterprise Solutions Ltd) is taking forward the business incubation parts of Ashford place and continues to support young entrepreneurs. The German partner (iq consult), also continues to train young entrepreneurs in their location in Potsdam. In total, 13 youth enterprise incubator/ accelerator locations across the 4 partner countries will be sustained or developed over the coming 2 – 5 years resulting from this Transfer of Innovation Project "Youth Enterprise Accelerator” project.
