The Project is built with European Center for Development in Pazardjik/Bulgaria to give the opportunity to 12 volunteers for short periods (59 days) and 3 volunteers for longer periods (6 months) to volunteer at daily care center which provides service to disabled youths who are over the age of 18. Within this framework, it will be ensured to include in volunteers and special needed people with non-formal learning techniques and experiences actively, and during this process they will be ensured to experience EVS as a learning process.The Project will take place in Pazardjik/Bulgaria from 01.03.2016 to 30.08.2017.By performing individual and team work, communicating with different youths, improving the current information, learning a new language, experiencing new traditions & customs and developing new approaches, the volunteers will have gains in the areas mentioned below:. • To gain new information and sufficiency. • To form new communicational skills. To have working experience with disabled youths. • To gain language skills / Bulgarian (written and verbal) and improvement of current English skills. • To work directly with disabled individuals who are over the age of 18 at a day care center. • Gaining teamwork skills • To gain creativity and approach methods while working with disabled people. (• To make new friends • To became accustomed to new culture, new customs and traditions. • To discover different activities and attraction centers in Pazarcik, Bulgaria. • Socio-cultural skills • To gain sense of responsibility for the disadvantageous groups. • To understand disabled people better. • The consciousness of Europeanness and sense of belonging. The project will be active between 01.03.2016 - 30.08.2017; and the volunteers will carry out the activities on the dates mentioned below:01/04/2016 and 29/05/2016 – 2 volunteers 01/06/2016 and 29/07/2016 – 2 volunteers 01/08/2016 and 28/09/2016 – 2 volunteers 01/10/2016 and 28/11/2016 – 2 volunteers 01/12/2016 and 28/01/2017 – 2 volunteers 01/02/2017 and 31/03/2017 – 2 volunteers Total: 12 months, 12 short term volunteers 01/06/2016 and 30/09/2016 – 2 volunteers (180 days)01/10/2017 and 29/03/2017 – 1 volunteers (180 days) total 12 months 3 long term volunteersThe activities that will be carried out during the project period: The volunteers will be able to perform instructional, informative and social activities related to their opportunities and experiences. One medical personnel and one advisor will accompany to the volunteers during the voluntary activity period. Volunteers will be able to display their own cities, countries and cultures. Also, they will be able to help to disabled youths in ceramics, cards, and posters making activities at the Day Care Center which provides service to disabled youths who are over the age of 18. Events will be organized by the home institution such as outdoor tours; public authorities, galleries, theaters, museums and cinema visits. Volunteers will help disabled youths to provide their daily needs (feeding, cleanliness, dressing). Volunteers will work 5 days in a week, 30 hours in total. Bulgarian language course is also included to this time. Common learning techniques will be used in the project; the volunteers will get the chance to observe and negotiate in different platforms and they will make presentations.
