Youth+ against depression " is a project designed to raise youngsters awareness about mental health problems, To achieve its objectives we planned to make events taking place in Estonia. Partner countries are Slovakia and Croatia.The themes of the project are: Intercultural dialogue and acceptance, raising awareness about menthal health problems, physical and mental health of youngsters, anti-discrimination, using informal education methods for learning youngstersObjectives:- to raise awareness of a group of youngsters aged 15-19 about mental health in partner countries within one year of the project.- to prevent mental health problems among youngsters, such as depression, stress, low self esteem, lack of social skills and values.- to develop a social skills, initiative, leadership skills, life long learning skills necessary for future career.- to explore informal methods of education reducing the level of depression among youngsters.• to create an informal educational environment for youth to learn from each other in the intercultural context.• to share participatory methods and good practice of informal education as well as create new ones aimed at developing life skills for future life, leadership skills, self-esteem, decision making and problem solving skills in youth work within intercultural learning.• to Introduce the Erasmus+ programme and explore the possibilities of the Erasmus+ programme as a tool in promoting activities aimed at promoting mentally-healthy lifestyle among young people.The main activity is a 8-day-long youth exchange for 27 participants (24 young people aged 15-19 and 3 leaders). During this activities we will increase youngsters knowledge about mental health problem and show non-formal education methods for preventing mental health problems. Youth exchange dates from 23 to 30.09.2016.We are planning to organize a lot of useful, interesting and creative activities for which all participants will be responsible. The following activities will be held:Before the exchange:1. Discover and explore. Each partner will get an assignment to research the problem of mental health at the local level, explore non-formal methods aimed at prevention of mental health problems. They will learn to critically find and use information, develop analytical skills, leader ship skills, social skills and creativity.2. Making video/presentation based on the research. They will develop their digital skills.While the exchange:1. Share with others.Presenting partner countries. They will get knowledge about other cultures and problems of partner countries in the area of mental health. They will raise their cultural awareness will learn about the problem of mental health in partner countries.2. Sharing the theoretical knowledge - non formal methods through workshops, group work and peer learning. They will develop social, self-esteem, leadership skills. They will acquire non formal methods on preventing mental health problems which can be spread at the local level.3. Narva school and youth center visits with workshops aimed at raising awareness about mental health problems among youngsters. They will learn how to apply new methods in practice in a different environment.4. Evaluation stage. They will learn how to evaluate own acquired knowledge and skills in the area of mental health by means of youth pass, learning diaries, final conference.After the exchange:1. Dissemination of the project results. Creation of booklet with photos of workshops, non-formal methods preventing mental health problems. Workshops at the local level in schools and youth centres. They will develop creative, digital, leadership skills and responsibility for project results dissemination. We expect that the impact on the participants will be the following:- they will raise their awareness about the importance of Mental health problem to prevent future problems with it.- we expect that they will get or improve their own social skills, leadership skills, lifelong learning skills.- they will acquire and create new informal methods of education reducing the level of depression among youngsters and will spread information at local level.- they will improve their communication in foreign languages, social and civic competences that equip individuals to participate in an effective and constructive way in social life.- they will improve digital competence which involves the confident and critical use of information.Participation organizations will get a useful experience of participating in a multicultural project and get new partnerships.The project is based on non-formal methods:- Group work- Peer learning- Team building- Ice-breaking - Workshops- Learning diary- Forum theatre - Debates- The Problem Tree- Cultural eveningsAll partners will be involved in preparation, implementation and evaluation and follow-up phases and activities during the project.
