“Your Body is Your Statement” is an 8 days training course gathering 30 youth workers, facilitators, trainers and educators from various European countries in Poland with the aim to explore new learning methodologies based on work with body and movement, while experiencing how embodied learning approaches and methods can be used in different realities within youth work and non-formal education. With this course we would like to contribute to the improvement of professional competences of the youth workers and educators as well as improving youth workers and educators' authentic leadership skills and abilities to make better connections with participants of their activities, with their colleagues and communities. The objectives of the project include:1) To explore and experience embodiment practices as a tool to bring positive changes to professional life of European youth workers and educators and to their communities in order to promote tolerance, peaceful coexistence and solidarity.2) To develop participants' empathetic leadership and communication skills. 3) To provide impulse, know-how and networks for their organizations to create high impact activities.4) To enhance the life-long learning competences and soft skills of participants, since the efficiency and resilience of the organizations is highly dependent on the competences of their staff and volunteers - their ability to communicate the message, resolve iconflicts and keep themselves and others inspired for developing the organization and realizing its mission.5) To foster quality improvements in youth work, in particular through enhanced cooperation between organizations in the youth field coming from different countries, and through elaborating and testing innovative, efficient learning methods and approaches. 6) To help to deal with barriers and obstacles that prevent the participants from realizing their full potential and contributing to problem solving in their organizations and communities. 7) To exchange the experience and strengthen mutual support networks of youth workers and organizations and to gain international experience as an important element of professional development in contemporary Europe.During eight days participants will learn new methodologies based on work with body and movement, improve their toolkit with new approaches and at the same time enhance their social and civic skills. Participants will improve their leadership and teamwork skills, communication skills, including assertive and compassionate communication, networking skills, ability to empathize and resolve conflicts, will learn how to gain support of other people and institutions to their initiatives. Through dialogue, group and self-reflection, bodywork, movement and meditation participants will learn from each other, develop the connection and open communication within the group. Embodied learning, movement and learning by doing will be especially emphasized throughout the course. Thus the training course will include elements from contact improvisation, dance, authentic movement, yoga, acrobatics, hands-on bodywork, voice work, theater, meditation and other fields of bodywork. Additionally short theoretical inputs and exercises for reflection and evaluation, based on creative writing, storytelling, coloring and visualizations will be used. The results of the project are both tangible and intangible and include: the toolbox of the methodologies explored and used during the training course and short workshops back in participants' countries as part of the dissemination activities. The intangible results - participants' learning outcomes, insights and ideas - will be gathered and presented with help of visual tools, such as photos, graphic recordings and video showing participants testimonials and reflections after the training course. As embodied learning methods contribute to both, professional and personal development of the learners, thus through practices, activities and approaches used during this training course, participants will improve their wellbeing and a centered presence - grounded way of being in their bodies and practicing leadership with the ability to act and respond to their own needs, as well as to the needs of others, the community and their environment. With the new knowledge participants will be able to suggest their organizations and target groups practices that help to build healthier working environment that fosters innovations, inclusion and dialogue. As leaders, employees, or volunteers of partner organizations they will be able to design new services, learning programs for young people, to facilitate learning process of others in a responsible, compassionate and efficient manner, which in turn will result in high quality innovative programs for youth in Europe.
