Youth Exchange "Young Europeans in Charge" is project that will be hosted by Civilna, edukativna i transparentna platforma, in Djakovo, Croatia from 23.03.2015 until 31.04.2015 and will gather 36 young people and leaders from Croatia, Bulgaria, Italy, Poland, Macedonia and Romania. Even tough European Citizenship and youth participation are one of the main priorities of EU youth strategy 2010-18 which foreseen creation of more and equal opportunities of the promotion of active citizenship and solidarity, we still see a lack of concrete material, methodical hints and practical guidance for those dealing with the issues. Summarizing the objectives of the YE are to critically and creatively reflect about the role and relevance of European citizenship, participation and volunteering in youth work; to enable participants to reflect upon and to address key values related to European citizenship, participation and volunteering; to increase the participants professional competences in developing and evaluating projects with young people, empowering them or developing their own understanding and practice of European citizenship, participation and volunteering; to support capacity and partnership building and to contribute towards inventive and high quality projects by exploring diverse working methods and strategies and to acquire competence in dealing with youth issues and to equip the participants with the knowledge and competence necessary to make use of it.
The YE aims to bring together young people from Europe to discuss the meaning of youth participation and volunteering in order to give new impulses for European Citizenship Education, to share possible ways to break the issue down for the practice in international youth work and to come up with creative ideas and support for practitioners in the international youth field. The Youth Exchange will provide the occasion to share experiences, foster sustainable partnerships, support capacity building and contribute to the exploration of new working methods and strategies. The methods used will be based on the principles and practice of non-formal education such as debate, individual and group reflection, and encourage exchange of best practices. Different non formal education methods will be used, such as: brainstorming, simulations, debates, roleplays, discussions, work in small groups, presentations, etc.
