With the EVS project "Young Europeans for active European citizenship in Albania" a French volunteer send by the organization “TERA-Maison de l'Europe de la Charente” will have the possibility to do a 7 month Voluntary Service starting in February 2015 within the Albanian organization JEF Albania. The hosting organization JEF Albania aims at bringing Europe closer to its Citizens and the Citizens closer to Europe. JEF promotes European Citizenship with its various activities. Working together with a European volunteer offers us to the possibility to give a stronger European dimension to all our activities and to share our ideas with young Europeans. The Albanian organization invites the volunteer to get involved in the preparation and organization of all our activities, seminars and trainings on European Awareness among youngsters. We want not just talk about Europe but actually give a real example of Europe and the possibility it offers to youngsters. Furthermore JEF Albania encourages the volunteer to get part of the preparation team, to bring up own ideas and to get in contact with the local community since the organization wishes to propose additional European activities. The main activities of the volunteer will be the assistance of: - Preparation and organization of JEF Albania youth European awareness projects such as: European Week in Albania, Model European Union Albania, International Conference on Youth Policy - Updating and giving suggestions for the English version and the design of the JEF Albania and MEU Albania web page and the info news letter - Research activities of good practice connected to EU affairs in other countries - Assisting in everyday work and communication within JEF Albania - Involving volunteers in creation new projects and activities - Creation of different campaigns (creative team) - Preparation and writing new projects - Giving opportunity to initiate own activity and projects related to European citizenship The project will not just have a positive impact on the personal growth of the volunteer but also have a positive impact on local society. JEF Albania works closely with the local youth who can even so directly benefit from this project by getting to know a European volunteer, its country, culture and language. Through the activities organized by the French volunteer the local youth will learn more about European citizenship. Exchanging with other Europeans in a non-formal way helps even so to promote mutual understanding between young people from different social, religious and ethnic backgrounds. This EVS project will therefore have a positive impact on the local youth regarding the fight against stereotypes and racism. In a long run we hope to establish a strong partnership between the French sending and the Albanian hosting organization in order to envisage further European projects.
