"YOU(TH) JOIN HANDS TOGETHER to foster Solidarity and Social Inclusion" is a Group EVS Program organized in Rijswijk, The Netherlands from 18 July to 14 August 2010. This program aims to cross the borders of young volunteers to solidarity and stimulate their creative and innovative thinking through sports and recreative outdoor activities to foster social inclusion. Through games and non formal methods we make aware of the need for tackling poverty and in this way remove all barriers to inspiration, shared responsibility and participation. This program aims and has the potential to give young people a first experience of European Voluntary Service promoting intercultural learning and European awareness in a mixed group experience. In this way this project creates an ideal set up to emphasizing collective and individual responsibility in combating poverty and social exclusion, and fostering commitment and concrete action.A group of 22 volunteers (out which 11 volunteers will be young people with fewer opportunities) from 10 countries will take active part in the summer holiday activities (Vakantiebos). The method of indoor and outdoor sport and recreative activities for the children (about 200 children per day) give the volunteers a good opportunity, to Cross the Borders of their countries, Culture, language and at the same time get to know the youth work on a European scale and will promote many more individual EVS possibilities for our organization and partner organizations.
