YIC International was long-term EVS project which involved four foreign volunteers in activities of Youth Information Centre in Slany and its umbrella organisation DDM Ostrov Slany. DDM Ostrov received one volunteer from France, one from Italy (Sardinia) and two from Sweden. They were all members of team working in Youth Information Centre. Sending organisations are represented by Centre Régional Information Jeunesse Champagne-Ardenne from France, Associazione Interculturale NUR from Italy and Viadidakt Ungdomstorget from Sweden. The project started in August 2014 and ended in January 2016. The activity took place since October 2014 till December 2015. Volunteers participated in regular activities of the receiving organisation according to their interests, but their main mission was spreading awareness about benefits of intercultural learning and meeting and about opportunities that European Union brings to young people, mostly in the field of youth mobilities. Volunteers gained experience of work with different target groups in methods of non-formal education and they had the possibility to acquire competences from various fields. Results of the project are mostly raised knowledge about international opportunities provided by EU among local youth, public and institutions. This project was the second experience of DDM Ostrov as receiving and coordinating organisation, so it brought us new experience and developed our competences in running EVS projects.
