The project is promoted by the Institute of Vocational Secondary Education Sraffa of Brescia (IT) in partnership with MFR Cologne (FR) and involves 30 students of the fifth classes of the school year 2014/2015, of the course for Social Services Operator. The opportunity of an internship abroad responds to the need to continue and insist on a path of personal, cultural and professional growth addressed to our students, who come from a social context at risk of marginalization . We absolutely need to show our students that "the world is bigger," to offer them opportunities to strengthen their self-esteem and confidence in their abilities, to experiment in new situations (although within a protected and controlled "frame"), that can stimulate the curiosity about the world. The project has a duration of 12 months (from 1 October 2014 to 30 September 2015) including intercultural pedagogical pre-departure preparation , final evaluation and dissemination of results . The duration of the mobility period is of 3 weeks : from 7 to 27 January 2015. The students will be placed in welfare and early childhood services in the town of Colgne in the south of France, thereby enabling the rapid development of personal skills and professional attitudes. Intercultural exchange will also constitute a key element for the strengthening of the spirit of independence and initiative of students, by enhancing critical thinking and the ability to self - orientation.
