The beneficiaries of the project which is expected to start in June 2016 and finish in October 2017 are a group of seven teachers working in the John Paul II middle school in Mlynarze. They are the teachers of eight different subject areas: English, Polish, German, Mathematics, Geography, History, I.T. and Civics. The teachers have been working in this school for ten years, 8 of which they have spent in the middle school . They are all well-educated and qualified and have a wealth of experience in running co- financed projects paid by external sources.The project presented below, fully corresponds with our school’s needs. The main aim of this project is to improve our teacher’s language skills and abilities, as well as interpersonal and methodological skills, which are hugely import_ant to provide equal educational opportunities for our students and to improve quality of teaching in our setting. Taking part in this project will also help us minimise the risk of social exclusion and will help our students to start aspiring to greater achievements and build their confidence further.Many activities are planned during this project. Amongst them are:- participation of our teachers in language courses at different levels as well as the methodological;- practical training courses within the interpersonal and public relation skills;- participation in the eTwinning program;- Introduction of key vocabulary to all curriculum areas in the English language;- The extension of the educational offer of our school by extra language lessons with elements of drama to enable students to practice their speaking and listening skills in English which also helps students to awaken their interests in foreign language and prepares them to use new vocabulary and grammatical structures in real situations; - public performances of students from drama classes with elements of German which will be a cultural and educational event, besides cultural impression German performaces will deliver specific knowledge about cultural diversity and European multiculturalism;- Using different types of publicity to advertising the project and its activities.The project will be monitored and evaluated by systematic analysis of the quantitative and qualitative data obtained by lesson observations, questionnaires, interviews and reports as well as face to face conversations and online reports.We are planning meetings with other professionals, as well as teacher engagement with parents to promote and disseminate all relevant information on the project. The information will also be published in our local media.On the completion of the project, we are planning to engage with the Erasmus+KA2 programme which we feel will help us improve our student’s interpersonal and language skills.
