End date: Jun 30, 2018
PROJECT
FINISHED
In this sixth request of the Department of Health and Nutrition ten trainees of the hospitality industry and hairdressing companies as well as six of the higher vocational school will be involved. The focus is on learning techniques, expanding the methods, skills and abilities (all), services on host (hotel and restaurant specialist), the customer (hairdressers) and the patient (Higher Vocational School).Reykjavik in Iceland and Oulu in Finland are particularly suitable for an exchange. As trade and university towns they offers in the context of cultural diversity throughout the year the possibility of mobility. Ylivieska as a small town is ideal for students of higher vocational school, as they find a "usual" Niederrhein environment. The apprentices and students are able to become actively involved in their operation and apply their previously learned knowledge and skills and to extend them. The posting of the previous trainees of the hospitality industry from 2010 to 2016 and students in 2011 has shown that all our trainees were grown with their tasks. The mobilities are planned for four weeks, the participants will work in this period in selected companies. The apprentices and the enterprises will participate by the gained specific skills. The reputation of the apprentices inside the enterprise will increase. The growth of social and intercultural competences will have a positive effect on the internal life of the enterprises and in dealing with customors. At last teh apprentices will also profit of an increased language competence. The enterprise can present itself as an innovative place of apprenticeship and perhaps profit when acquiring new apprentices. The cooperation of the invloved partners will be strengthened for future projects.Furthermore the students go abroad to acquire more skills and knowledge for a successful training. This showed the experience so far. Several trainees from previous Mobility projects were gone after their final exam abroad (to Finland and other European countries). The trainees of the current round exchanges have also received an offer to work in the summer in Oulu or Reykjavik.
