The project "economy in comparison" is designed to motivate young business students at the C.G. Zimmermann Handelsschule to broaden their interest and perspective. In order to deal with an international economy and global world in an adequate manner the students are asked to be engaged in the economy of Great Britain. Furthermore the project will help the students participating in vocational education at C.G. Zimmermann Handelsschule to improve their foreign language competencies. Great Britain is selected as partner country of the project "economy in comparison" as the ability to speak the English language is an important precondition of successfull career bracket in the field of economy. Furthermore the choice of the British partner points out the importance of the British economy and finance. With regard to didactic high value is set on autonomous learning - students will acquire relevant knowledge and insight within the project by themselves. This is why parts of research and self-directed learning are parts of the project. Further elements of the project are meetings with students in Great Britain, visits of companies and firms as well as lessons at the partner organisation ECBM. Beyond the lifetime of the project importance is attached to communication. The students are asked to not merely document their learning outcomes and experiences but to further report about it and to motivate other students to fellow the lead.
