Analysis of the latest data relating to female entrepreneurship underlines the growing presence of self-employed women, and consequently highlights their increasing importance in the economic system as creators of new employment opportunities.However, there is little and only partial information concerning the specificity of female entrepreneurship or the most appropriate way of supporting and developing it and the impact of the geographic and socio-economic variables on the birth and development of female entrepreneurship has not adequately been studied yet.WIN as LdV TOI project aims at:• Experimenting in the transferee countries (HU;CY;PL), mentoring as method to support the development of professional entrepreneurial skills. It is based on a process in which one person (the mentor) supports the professional development of another. In the present case the mentor will be a more experienced entrepreneur who, outside any formal working relationship, will help the female entrepreneur to develop her own professional identity; moreover an interpersonal network linking mentors and female entrepreneurs.• Understanding the characteristics of female entrepreneurship and their relationship with the geographic and socio-economic context. In particular, the project aims to develop, in co-operation with the transnational partners, a research on how female specificities in the models of creation and management of the enterprises can support innovation and competitiveness• Favouring the start-up of new enterprises by providing the transfer to local VET organisations and actors orientation/training/assistance and counselling services to women presenting an entrepreneurial idea to be developed and a specific training path for start up women entrepreneurs.The Consortium is composed of internationally recognized institutions active in the field of management education and enterprises' support and some of them have already collaborated in the past in LdV projectsExpected resultsThe direct benefits of the project will be:-the availability of tested learning methodologies for the start-up, support and development of women's companies-the transfer of professional knowledge concerning female entrepreneurship to trainers and consultants-the dissemination of the results by means of publications and public eventsThe project will also lead to a number of indirect benefits, including:•the start-up of some entrepreneurial activities•greater awareness of the entrepreneurial identity and role of the participants as a result of the support provided by more experienced entrepreneur•development of mentors' skills•the possibility of taking advantage of an interpersonal network of relationships between entrepreneurs and mentors and among themIn addition, it is expected that the project will lead to the establishment of methods and services related to female entrepreneurship that could be incorporated in the different local VET systems
