What if I get involved?
Start date: May 15, 2015, End date: Dec 14, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

Nowadays, the posibilities of young people around Europe to travel and learn by using non-formal education are high. In the last years, we assisted to a increase in the number of youth participating to non-formal education activities. However, we understand that in many situations, the learning process and the target group is only slightly focused on young people with fewer opportunities, where the need of non-formal education activities is high. Furthermore, the innitiatives of the young people from the partners organizations are limited as size and can’t create a sustainable effect, integrated in a mainstream of youth work in the field of volunteering, that can help youth develop their key competences as civic behaviour, intercultural skills and knowledge, practical implementation of non-formal education methods. The project “What if I get involved?” proposes a different approach for the work of youth in the field of volunteering using non-formal education. We will create a example of large scale youth event, using the concept “Youth Exchange with local community”, where both the participants and the youngsters from local community are involved in the learning process starting with the early stages of the exchange. We aim to create the impact for participants and the local youngsters as the activities are implemented, to multiply the concept and the activities experienced in all the communities of the partners, so we can integrate the concept in a mainstream for youth work, with a lot of visibility and participation of the community. In order to achieve these goals, we propose to implement the 2 mobilities in the period 15-23 July 2015 (training course) and 15-24 September 2015 (youth exchange). For the 2 mobilities will take part 24 youth workers and 38 young participants from Poland, Spain, Lithuania, Bulgaria and Romania. The participants age for the youth exchange is between 18-30 years and no age limit for the training course. The project has a strong inclusion component, 10 of the participants to the exchange are facing economic and social difficulties. Principale activitati si metode folosite sunt: During the 2 mobilities, the participants will be guided through the process of non-formal learning, so they can accumulate the necessary competences to implement large scale events in their own communities and obtain a greater impact integrated in a mainstream concept.
