FINISHED
We are an informal group of people and actually part of a wider project called "WWW - We World Wide (International Youth Work Meets School)", which is a Leipzig-centered project launched by the city administration and funded by the German federal ministry of family, seniors, women and youth (BMFSFJ). The project enables pupils of different schools to organize their own non-formal international exchange-project with the help of volutary "Coaches International" who support the prticipants. All our coaches involved in the project are well experienced in international youth work and share a passion for it.The schools are only taken as a means to reach the target group: young people aged 12 til 30. So we, as a part of this wider project "WWW", are people with different social and educational backgrounds (e.g. students from a secondary and a vocational school, volontary youth workers). We, the participants and the Coaches Interational, are meeting regularly to talk about a better world and how can we achieve this by organizing international youth exchanges. Everybody gets the chance to join our project and to actively participate in planning our activities. The participants want to carry out the project to gain experiences in being a participant within an international youth exchange as well as being an active part of the organisation team. The concept is open to other young people from external schools that are interested. They can be involved in our project, in agreement with the schools. Our project gives participants the possibility of a high participation and the youth exchange can be adapted to their own interests, wishes and ideas. Through this non-formal education program, which is a connection between school stakeholders and non-formal youth organisations and youth workers, a wide range of participants can be addressed, who previously could not join any outside school experiences and for who haven't had any knowledge on those kind of projects yet. The international partner organisations are interested in getting to know the whole idea of the project "WWW", being part of the development of the project and implementing the idea at their schools and institutions as well. On a long-term basis we want to spread the idea of the project - the connection of non-formal, international youth exchanges and schools - on a local, a regional, a national and an international level, because we are deeply convinced, that the participation in an international youth exchnage strengthens the self confidence, language and intercultural as well as project self management and professionall skills of young people and therefore each student should have the possibility to participate in an international youth exchange.
