Vzdělávání bez hranic - jazykové vzdělávání učitelů
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

The objective of our project follows the long-term development plan of our school as well as the plan of the further professional development of our teaching staff. One of the main incentives for our school to participate in this project are the increasing demands of our social partners on language competence of teachers, students and graduates. Through the improvement of language skills of our teachers and the use of modern methods in foreign language teaching we could advance towards another goal. This goal is the cooperation and mobility with our foreign partners. It would be also easier for our graduates to find a job within the European labour market. In the future we expect to be involved in other projects of Erasmus+ programme. The main goal of the Erasmus+ project "Mobility of Individuals in the Field of Education" is getting language skills for all our teachers so that they would be able to negotiate, organize and become accompanied persons during the foreign educational stays of our students (KA1). We have already started negotiations and preparation of these programs concerning strategic partnership. Our project is being prepared as a two-year project. All relevant activities including a schedule of activities and target evaluation were planned during the preparation of the project. We mapped the possibilities of self-realization of foreign mobility and decided to prepare the project with a duration lasting two-years with the maximum length of 14 days per individual, including the journey. The school evaluated the potential benefits for each applicant and selected the key teachers who could meet the planned goals. All the participants of the project could choose from four destinations - Malta, Ireland, the UK and France. The foreign language teachers who are going to attend methodology courses will make arrangements on their own. Other teachers who applied for the language courses will be handled with the help of an agency. All applicants were thoroughly informed about the conditions of the project and signed binding application forms for the project. The activities of the project are divided into two groups. The foreign language teachers are going to participate in methodology courses in their desired destinations. We expect them to learn new methods of teaching, broadening their horizons in the use of modern technologies, gain rewarding experience from other EU teachers and extend intercultural competences. Three of the teachers already have experience with international mobility within Comenius projects and therefore will be prepared for the next level of the mobility - job shadowing or teaching assignment. Two other teachers of English will get involved in this kind of project for the first time. One of them is a teacher of English conversation who is an American native speaker. The other one has just completed her studies and both will primarily improve her skills in the methodology of teaching foreign languages. Teachers of other subjects have different levels of foreign language skills. They are all devoted to studying English, but they still lack the ability to communicate fluently. In order to improve their language skills it is necessary for them to be in an environment where they are forced to use it. These teachers play a key role in the implementation of all planned activities concerning international student mobility and introduction of CLIL methods in their lessons. They are obligated to achieve their minimum level of language skills A2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages before they leave for the language course. During the course they are going to learn technical terminology in order to implement CLIL methods in their classes. Basic knowledge of technical terminology is an integral part of the school curriculum. The management of the school is going to participate in the language courses for the same reasons and under the same conditions as the teachers of non-language subjects. In addition they are going to focus on both professional conversation and small talk. These skills are necessary for negotiation and discussion with social partners of the school. They can also monitor the situtation in the destinations where other teachers are going to attend the courses. Successful participants of the courses will obtain the Europass Mobility and Europass Language Passport. As a result of the project we expect our teachers to use their new competences during classes. Our school should be consistently recognized as an institution that provides high quality education ensuring it's graduates good job opportunities and being competitive on the national and international levels. We would like to cooperate in the process of the gradual transfer of the National Qualifications Framework (NSK) into the European Qualifications Framework (EQF) so that our students will be able to describe their
