Volunteers Without Borders
Start date: Sep 1, 2015,
End date: Aug 31, 2017
PROJECT
FINISHED
The “Volunteers without borders” project, aims to fight against discrimination, stereotypes and prejudices and to promote the importance of the gender equality. Nowadays the youngsters are under influence of the social networks, society and they can not make own image about the other nations. To be part of EVS project means to live and taste on their own other cultures, people, customs and help to define ambition and progress for themselves. The goal is to work toward a world where expectations are not set by the stereotypes that hold us back, but by our personal passion, talents and interests.
There are a lot of stereotypes to be broken which I think a lot of us are doing. If we help to the volunteer to change his/ her view for some nation and break the stereotypes and discrimination, this person can help in spreading the positive thoughts among the people in his/ her community.
Taking in consideration that we are living in 21st century, the equality is very important. We should stop thinking that mans are better then woman or reverse. We should give an equal treatment to all of the people. With this project we want to do activities and to promote this equality on local and international level.
This project will include 21 Turkish youngsters, doing their EVS in 4 countries from the Balkan( Kosovo, Bulgaria, Romania and Macedonia).

During the different types of activities, all volunteers will have the chance to work with dynamic, young organizations and get the idea of team work, sense of responsibility, inter cultural learning, European awareness and empathy. With the help of this project, volunteers will get lots of skills and key competences for their further life. By including disadvantaged youngsters into projects, we will make a big difference in their personal lives.
In the same time they will be kind of Turkish ambassadors that would help in breaking the stereotypes and prejudices about Turkish people in the Balkan and they will have chance to share the Turkish culture and language, and after the returning back they will have chance to share their new knowledge and experiences in their home country.
