EVS project entitled 'Volunteers for sustainable development in 2015' was implemented in Czestochowa. The host organization was the local association for supporting youth activities Cz-Art. Sending organizations are 2 organizations from Spain and 2 from Turkey. The project involved six volunteers aged 24-29 years, including 3 from Spain and 3 from Turkey (4 women and 2 men). The project started on 02.01.2015 and ended 02.29.2016. The actions of volunteers in the project lasted 10 months. Project objectives are: supporting volunteers in acquiring key competences, including knowledge, skills, experience, attitudes; raising awareness and knowledge of other cultures and countries among young people (volunteers from abroad and Polish youth); raising the quality of work with children and young people, supporting the potential of organizations participating in the project, including the host organization, but also its partner schools and kindergartens in Czestochowa and sending organizations; promote responsible consumption patterns and the use of available resources, healthy lifestyle; support for international mobility; improve the language skills of European volunteers and staff and volunteers from the host organization, as well as youth and children, with whom they had contact volunteers. Prior to the implementation of tasks the volunteers have identified their interests, previous experiences and needs in task support. The host organization has appointed a person responsible for supporting the tasks. In addition, each partner educational institution designated one teacher responsible for supporting the tasks. As the volunteers had their experience in non-formal education for sustainable development (eg. Projects on. recycling, sustainable consumption and others) as well as their own ideas for initiatives in this respect, task related support consisted primarily of allowing their implementation, ie. the organizational support (renting the room, translation, promotion of events, printing posters, etc.) and methodology support. In addition, volunteers observed the selected classes in kindergartens and primary schools cooperating with the host association, which enriched their knowledge. At the beginning of the project volunteers also they took part (as participants) in a workshop conducted by the association, eg. a recycling workshop "Take a piece of jewelry", graphic workshops. In addition, they participated in workshops in the field of selected programs for graphics creation. Each of the volunteers together with the project coordinator, who was also responsible for support tasks, chose the most interesting tasks. Volunteers together with the coordinator decided to split the time for individual tasks. All volunteers participated in both activities involving young people (conversation in Spanish, English corner, promotion of EVS and Erasmus plus, workshops for youth and etc.) as well as activities carried out in schools and kindergartens in Czestochowa (in 7 educational institutions cooperating with the association they supported the teachers for additional classes in the afternoon, for example the school gardening, recycling workshops, sports activities, etc.). Volunteers had regular weekly meetings with the coordinator, also a frequent meetings with other teachers providing task related support and mentors (in the project were involved 2 mentors). Volunteers have become active participants in the learning process. The premise of the project was learning through experience and focused on learner so volunteers alone could define their goals, influence decisions about project activities, alone and in groups define the tasks and implement them. This way they felt that they were responsible for the tasks, which allowed them to learn more than if the tasks were forced upon them. The project also contributed to improve the use of foreign languages ​​by volunteers and a large number of children and young people in Czestochowa. The project has allowed for the promotion of the Erasmus + and EVS youth in Czestochowa.
