The youth exchange “Volunteering in sport - VinS” took place in Lazdijai, Lithuania, between 20-28 of May, 2016. The project gathered a group of 20 participants who came from Erasmus+ Programme countries,: Lithuania, Spain and Turkey. “VinS” was a project that aimed to showcase the importance of volunteering in sport coaching while sharing experiences and knowledge in the field of sport, field of volunteering and both of them combined. The goal of this project was to transfer participants knowledge, innovative methodologies, practices and good examples to each other in order to develop future projects related to the topic which would spread the idea of “VinS” and create sustainable effect on their communities, especially the rural youth and the ones from more remote area, where people has less access to sport. With this project, the organizing team brought 20 young persons who had different experiences either in volunteering or sport and they had space to share their skills and knowledge. Project had these objectives of the project: - Clarify the concept of volunteering in sport coaching as a method of volunteership. - Emphasize benefits of sport and volunteering as a tool for socializing and bonding society members despite the age, gender, profession, etc. - To showcase how volunteering in sport coaching can be first step towards entrepreneurship. - Work on organizational part of volunteering in coaching (how practically to start an activity). - Boost volunteering ideas related to physical activeness in all partner countries. - Share and analyze good and bad cases in volunteering and coaching. - Setting a network of youth organizations working on healthy and active lifestyle, volunteering. Create or improve a platform, where information about possible events could be announced. - To foster inter-cultural learning and work in international environment. This Project had an APV meeting where Lithuanian, Bulgarian and Spanish leaders met to finalize agenda of Exchange. This meeting was important as it was so easier to prepare for upcoming exchange. Few days of productive work gave an impact on quality of exchange. During the exchange everyday had a certain topic. A very important part of the exchange was an inter-cultural bonding. There was time provided for participants to design new Erasmus+ projects and the platform for sharing experiences in sport, volunteering and volunteering in sport coaching. Organizers observed that during the project’s activities participants learned the following attitudes: - attitudes of cultural understanding, tolerance; - awareness and use of volunteering as a tool to promote healthy lifestyle; - awareness that with a certain amount of knowledge and experience a motivated sports volunteer can become a multiplier, promoter of healthy and active life and eventually even lay the basis to be employed within this field. - breaking stereotypes (in terms of cultures and countries, as well as sport as educational tool and volunteering as contribution to carrier and personal growth ).
