The Auslandsgesellschaft, the local partners and the partners from France, Italy, Poland, Romania and Spain want to give the opportunity to 5 volunteers in the EVS- projects from the participating countries to design and develop international projects and participate in a daily work in youth clubs, educational centers, oneworld house and the local events during the year of their volunteering service. By our local partners in Magdeburg the volunteers will accompany concrete international projects in fields such as film, photography or working with internet. Moreover they will self- initiate their own projects and put them into practice. This long-term individual stay abroad enhances their intercultural competence as well as their intercultural learning and experience and shapes their further personal development. Through their work in the various fields the volunteers will strengthen and develop their so-called soft skills in the form of self-employment and appearance, teamwork and cooperation, empathy and understanding for others. During the stay they will also enrich their language knowledge and the knowledge for Germany which can lead to better job opportunities in their future. The experience gained in the various activities should open them new perspectives and illustrate the importance of tolerance, democracy and intercultural learning and active participation in our society and clarify their relationship to Europe. At the same time the activities of our volunteers will enhance our own work through the new perspectives, problems and ideas of these young people. The international character of our activities will be visible in everyday work.
