The image of volunteering is losing value in our society. In a global crisis, altruism is an unpopular behavior, yet social needs are much greater. For this reason we want to learn, together with our partners, to improve the image of volunteering and to empower the volunteers we have.
We count on the results of a recently completed KA2 project on the impact of volunteering for the employability of young people, and we will use these materials to enrich this seminar to exchange good practices.
During the six days of activity, the 17 professionals Greece, UK, Bulgaria, Portugal and Spain will work collaboratively to achieve the objectives set led by two facilitators. They use group dynamics based on the exchange of good practices, small working groups and study visits, debates and exhibitions from each country.
Cultural diversity has been taken into account in the design of the project partnership. We have the Mediterranean perspective, the Central European and Anglo-Saxon. A good representation of the different European realities that bring richness to the debates and a variety of good practices transferable to other realities.
We hope to get a qualitative improvement in the perception of volunteering in our societies and quantitative results in the number of volunteers in our organizations (medium term). Also we hope to improve our skills and resources to empower volunteers.
