For the development of technology-based formats of the training for language course teachers we expect from this conference essential inputs at the same time we can bring the experience of the Association of Austrian Adult Education and its member institutions with various forms of e-learning in language teaching.
On 12th November 2014 the General Meeting of the Irish umbrella organization of adult education AONTAS will be held in Dublin . Together with stakeholders from adult education and community education a strategic plan 2015-2017 will be finalized there. The main points will be the status of adult education and training in Ireland, the role of learners (The Learners Voice) at local and national level and the future direction of the work of AONTAS . From participation in the General Meeting we expect an intensification of contact with AONTAS and concrete considerations and indications for the future strategic orientation of the Austrian association and Austrian adult education . In Dublin a preparatory meeting for the development of an European project is held, which is concerned with the interface between individuals and their skills and education systems in terms of the open access to higher education for non-traditional learners ( "second chance education").

Expected effects and results :
From the project's results , we expect effects for the entire adult education in Austria by enabling us to bring in examples of good practice from several European countries . This applies especially to people with a migration background, minorities and persons with disabilities. From the General Assembly of EAEA , we expect effects on educational policy and thus address a range of stakeholders in the public sector in the field of social partners and associations of adult education.

Effects we expect in terms of a higher IT competence in language teachers in adult education, a better developed training offer, which is addressed to all adult education teachers and is taken from this same claim .
The preparatory meeting at AONTAS and the expected learning outcomes will affect the design of the European project on second-chance education.
