Vocational training in Europe
Start date: Nov 1, 2016, End date: Oct 31, 2018 PROJECT  FINISHED

Four years ago our school, Tegelbruksskolan, ventured into an e-Twinning project with the French school, Lycée Profesionnel Ferdinand Dégruiller. Mrs Déleris and Mrs Wrentner have since worked together on two different projects. A second step was to apply for an Erasmus+ grant to be able to give our students a chance to do job-training abroad. We were received funding for our first exchange. Now we want to take a next step in this journey towards internationalisation. This time our plan is to run the same set-up with the French as last time, with a few alterations but also add BJ Spedition as a new partner organisation. We are now two of four programs involved, since the Transportation Program has joined us in this project. The students will benefit from this experience in many ways; improved language skills as well as social skills. Technical knowledge and the chance to get a Europass as a bonus in their CVs. The cultural boost in such an exchange cannot be overlooked as well as a change in attitude toward working in another European country. Our school would also benefit from this focus on internationalisation and our hope and agenda is to implement such a profile in the future. We have allready come if not yet far, at least a little bit. For this exchange we have 26 students who would be able to do three weeks of their work training in France along with 20 French students who come here to Sweden for their training. As well as 6 students in Hamburg, Germany. There would be four mobilities. To prepare the students we will use skype, Facebook and email to communicate and also focus on sharing information about the work they do in their respective workshops/garages. When the students are in France/Germany they will have the opportunity to visit French auto factories /German Trucking companies as well as getting an insight in the French/German way of life and French/German culture and history. We feel confident that the results will show great improvement in attitude towards other young people in European countries and towards seeing themselves working abroad in the future. Our students need the personal boost this type of activity could give them. This experience would help broadening their view of life and strengthen their understandning for other people, consequently moulding them into more responsible citizens as well as helping them succeed in their future profession.
