VIP Building bridges between Europe and China through intercultural dialogue

The project "VIP building bridges between Europe and China trough intercultural dialogue" is a Youth in Action project, under action 3.2, Youth in the World: Cooperation with countries other than the neighbouring countries of the EU, and will talce place in Liege, Belgium, and Beijing, China, starting from 01/10/2012 till 30/09/2013.Themes: - youth policies- intercultural dialogue- situation of visually impaired people (vip) in the participants countries Activities1. Feasibility visit in Belgium Í23rd till 27 of November 2012Ìto discover nonformal and formal educational opportunities for vip in the French Xkmmiiinity-afBelgium-2. Job Shadowing in Belgium (lsl to 20 of March)- to learn about youth work in the hosting organization3. Study visit in China (25th March till 4* of April 2013)- to discover nonformal and formal educational opportunities for vip in China4. Jobshadowing in China (26th of June- 15th of July)- to learn about youth work in the hosting organization5. Youth exchange in China (2-15 July 2013)- to encourage intercultural dialogue between young people with and without visualimpairment from Europe and China trough art and outdoor activities6. Evaluation visit in Belgium (26th of August - 3rd of September 2013)- general evaluation of the project results and of each activity in particular and to discusspossible follow-up activities- create tools to support the collaboration between the 2 organisationsCountries: Belgium and ChinaNumber of participants: the project will involve 148 young participants/youth workers and 112trainers, facilitators and staff.The main result of this project is creating links between visually impaired young people fromBelgium with visually impaired young people from China; trough non-formal activities. The dissemination strategy can be summarized as follows:- the creation of a folder that will promote this project (the folder will be in French, Chinese and English; it will be adapted in Braille, large print, electronic format);- sustained by the creation of a blog that will be available for all young people, visual impaired and sighted, and also for the youth workers.The project impact concerns the personal development of the young people especially visuallyimpaired, through their work active participation. Additionally, the development of specific materials and its distribution to youth is also expected to be substantial.
