PROJECT
FINISHED
Nuestra Señora de la Victoria de Lepanto High School is located in Villarejo de Salvanés, Madrid, Spain. It is a small school which provides educational range of modules to the nearest and mainly rural population. Agriculture is the main activity in this location and the industrial sector is reduced. The school offers a range of educative modules related with Transport and Vehicle Maintenance, Mechanical Manufacturing and Office Administration.
Villarejo in Europe II project involves the candidates to carry out the following activities in different periods:
• Exchange of 6 students of Transport and Vehicle Maintenance with Daimler AG in Germany. These exchange programmes will be carried out during the school years 2015-2016 and 2016-2017 with 3 students each time for 30 days as part of their work experience period.
• Internship in different countries for Technical Graduates in Malta. 2014-2015 Technical graduates will be able to do 60 days internship in different companies depending on their professional profile. In this way, graduates will enjoy a first work experience and they will increase their employability expectations.
• Work experience for 8 students of Mechanical Manufacturing and Office Administration in different companies in Malta. The 8 participants will carry out their practical work in 30 days periods as part of their work experience period. These exchange programmes will be carried out in two different periods with 4 students each time for 30 days during the school years 2015-2016 and 2016-2017.
The project has been developed using a previous project assessment and by having collected some data about the possible candidates. After having analyzed and evaluated the project, the strategic decisions were drawn up: number of mobility exchanges, periods, necessary activities for its successful development such as the creation of a Technical Language Classroom, motivational Plan with activities with all previous participants and other orientation activities.
When Villarejo in Europe II Project comes to an end, we expect all participants have reached the aims proposed and got the learning results defined in the formative programmes of the different activities which support mobility programmes. All these goals will be assessed through documented observation, personal interviews and objective data drafted from statistical comparison of the reports made in order to monitor the students before, meanwhile and after the completion of all the main activities of the project. We expect a huge impact on students in the way they see the working environment in a European dimension, with an added value that this professional, intercultural and linguistic experience involves, which will obviously increase their personal autonomy, self-reliance and their level of maturity. We also expect their employability opportunities will increase both in Spain and Europe.
For the school environment, the implementation of this project will involve the expansion of job opportunities in international dimensions overcoming the barriers that traditional view of rural environment may sometimes be created. It will also contribute to the improvement of the educative offer thanks to the instructive and educational resources that host organizations provide.
With regard to the High School, the implementation of Villarejo in Europe II Project will mean to keep on with a project that highly integrates daily formative work by linking all other projects of the school and by broadening its European dimension as a Public Organization co-financed under European Social Fund does.
