The project aims to reduce dependence on traditional energy sources andto develop new technology for the production of energy from renewable sources. These objectives will be achieved through the estimation of the quantities of residual biomass of the wine industry in Sicily and Malta, the verification of an additive of agriculture origin for the production of e-diesel and the characterization of low-blend ethanol-diesel fuels, the reuse of wastewater from winemaking, the uptake of CO2 by fermentation of the wine industry for use in food industry or in the energy sector, the use of solar energy to power cooling systems used in the cellars.Il progetto si propone di ridurre la dipendenza dalle fonti energetiche tradizionali e di sviluppare tecnologia legata alla produzione di energia da fonti rinnovabili. Ciò attraverso una valutazione del potenziale energetico delle biomasse provenienti dalla vinificazione presso siti siciliani e maltesi, la verifica di un additivo di origine agricola per la produzione di ediesel, la caratterizzazione della miscela etanolo diesel (miscela lowblend etanolo-diesel fossile), il riutilizzo delle acque reflue di vinificazione, la captazione di CO2 di fermentazione dellindustria enologica da utilizzare nellindustria alimentare e/o nel settore energetico e lutilizzo dellenergia solare per lalimentazione di impianti di raffreddamento utilizzati nelle cantine. Achievements: The project Vienergy showed that the reuse of production scraps of vineyards is an economically viable and environmentally sustainable way to produce clean energy to benefit the cellars. Finally, the Research Centre of the Italian-Maltese environmental sustainability and renewable sources, created by the partnership of the project Crim-Safri, haaffiancato various SMEs and PA Italian and Maltese guiding the development of eco-innovation, the exploitation of renewable energy sources and in defining strategies of Green Public Procurement.
