The organization Vasa Gymnasium in Arboga is in need to increase the students' professional knowledge, skills and competencies in their chosen profession for students to achieve their learning goals and achieve greater employability on the European labor market. There is also a need to increase students' knowledge and understanding regarding other languages, cultures and countries where school pupil numbers of new arrivals are rising steadily. This implies the need to implement a cultural awareness that allows everyone, in both organizational and community, to be able to work together as citizens of a democratic European society. Finally, there is a need to increase the attractiveness and status of vocational programs. To satisfy the needs of the organization we are planning to send a total of 34 students from different vocational programs to attend between 3 and 6 weeks of internship abroad in four different timeperiods to Malta and Mallorca. The students are expected along with well-established host organizations to acquire vocational, linguistic, cultural and personal experiences which can then be disseminated and implemented in and outside the organization as part of a sustainable quality development. In case the application is granted, the project is expected to contribute to higher quality, recognition and attractiveness of the Organization vocational training as a result of students' increased learning outcomes and employability. The project is also expected to increase the vocational students' linguistic and intercultural skills and raise their motivation to study. In summary , the project will contribute to the EU's objectives regarding improved key competencies and skills relevant to the labor market and contribute to a more cohesive society by enhancing cooperation between school and work. This is also in line with the Swedish educational objectives and the need to increase international cooperation and also with the Vasa Gymnasium upper secondary school need to develop our vocational training programs with the help of internationalization.
