The necessity of implementation of Project: project will help the youth from different countries to gain new experiences, participate in intercultural dialogue, and learn "Urban Knitting" and other art techniques. Project participants will get a new experience that will contribute their social participation and social activity and will turn public attention to the idea of European unity.
Aim of the Project: participating in creative activities to promote intercultural communication.
The profile and number of participants: in project will participate 30 participants aged 13-30 years, including young people with fewer opportunities .
Activities: Orienting game in Daugavpils, “National stereotypes”, “Intercultural evenings”, “The Cultural iceberg”, „The Stairs fo Culture”, creative workshops: preparation to the public event “European tree”, practical knitting activities, excursions, action "Knit the city!", public event „European tree”, which will consist of the flags of Project partner countries, evaluation activities.
Used methods: easy physical activities, morning exercises, games, presentations, questions-answers, creative work, work in groups, knitting using different methods, individual work, knitting, food preparation, discussion, excursions, practical activities, flesh mob, tree knitting, experience sharing, surveys, evaluation activities, quiz.
Within the Project will be made the video about the project activities, which will contain the information about the financial support of the Project, Project partners and organised events and activities. The film will be published on www.youtube.com, www.facebook.com and other social networks, homepages of partner countries. It will be the kind of dissemination of project results and example of project visibility.
Results: Project participants wil be acquainted with the representatives of other cultures and and will gain experience in intercultural communication, tolerance and cooperation idea will be popularized among young people, youth will acquire new skills and abilities in different knitting techniques and other kinds of art technique. The Project will draw attention of local inhabitants to the issue of European unity, to the opportunities offered ERASMUS+ programme, and to the "Urban Knitting" art direction.
