The title of the project at the Berufskolleg Meschede is "Unterstützung des Praktikums International 2014/2015" (Supporting the international work placements 2014/2015). An English teacher will take part in a teacher training course about "British Life, Language & Culture" at Pilgrims English Language Courses in Canterbury, England. The teacher training course will probably take place in July/August 2014. After the course the teacher will support the colleagues who are planning work placements and language courses for 54 students in London and Cork (Ireland) in 2014 and 2015. The English teacher will focus on the language skills of the students and on the cultural differences. After the work placements the experiences of students, colleagues and companies of the work placements will be evaluated. In the long term the teacher training course should lead to improved language skills and cultural awareness of the students. Their mobility in Europe should be increased, they should become more confident when using the English language and be able to discuss different aspects of their jobs. The English teacher is looking forward to getting new teaching ideas, meeting other European teachers and (if possible) establishing the basis for future projects.
