PROJECT
FINISHED
Our Vocational School Benoit D' Azy is located in a rural area, where employment is seriously threatened. Most of our students come from families where revenues are low.
To develop a taste for mobility among our students, several projects have been organized since 1995.
They have enabled more than 150 students to make a placement abroad, in different countries of the European Union .
Students under 18 following a BTEC course in domestic and industrial appliances are suitable for this project. After selecting a group of volunteers , an assessment grid is completed by all the teachers, this grid will lead to the selection of six students who will take part in our project.
The students and the teacher accompanying them will travel to the host country on scheduled flights, booked by a local travel agency and they will use, most of the time, local means of transport for travelling in the host country. They will be lodged in flats or hotels, they will be almost self- sufficient as far as managing themselves for food and budget is concerned.
In the host country, these students will have trainings in the electrical field, trainings which will be related to their diploma's syllabus or curriculum. This training period will lead to an assessment made with the tutor of the host country and the students' teacher. This work placement abroad will enable students to include an additional "mobility unit" in their diploma.
The teacher accompanying them will take the opportunity of going abroad to discover new firms and develop relationships already in place with the foreign companies abroad. She or he will be present and will look after them in case of any problem after work.
This project will enable the selected students to develop their autonomy , their liking for mobility, their skills in a foreign language, to have a better view of Europe and improve their skills in their training course.
