Elektrostrojarska škola (a secondary school that delivers secondary vocational programmes and a technical grammar school programme) posseses considerable experience in dealing with the gifted and talented secondary students, both within the framework of the regular classes/regular curriculum and within the framework of the extracurricular activities offered by the School.The most distinguished results in dealing with the gifted and talented secondary students have been accomplished under the three centres of excellence of the Varaždin County , which operate at the School: - Centre of excellence of the Varaždin County for Physics, established in 2008; - Centre of excellence of the Varaždin County for Croatian language, established in 2012 ; - Centre of excellence of the Varaždin County for the New Technologies (CENT), launched in 2013. , within the framework of a EU-funded project.The specific objective of this project is:To enhance the standards of the regular programmes/extracurricular activities of Elektrostrojarska škola as well as didactical-methodical approaches in the context of the dealings with gifted and talented secondary school students.The following staff of Elektrostrojarska škola - members of the "Expert Team for the Gifted and Talented Students" - will enhance their competencies under the project:- School Director;- School Psychologist;- 6 teachers - mentorsTheir competencies will be improved through the following project's activities:- Study visit of „European Talent Centre“ - Structured training „School Revolution - The Flipped Classroom and Innovative Didactic Methodologies - Structured training„Strength-based Coaching & Guidance“ - Study visit of „Gifted and Talented Network Ireland“ - Structured training "Identify the Hidden Talent in Your Classroom“
