This trilateral exchange between Reunion, Ireland and Romania will be from 6 to 15 July 2016 on the island of Reunion. This European meeting will bring together 32 young people aged 15-20 years and 7 leaders. The theme of the exchange is identity. Many fun and educational activities will be developed to help participants become aware of the difference and these assets. This project follows the terrorist attacks in France and Europe. We'll use the book of Luigi Pirandello, "One, No One hundred thousand and" thread as to better understand the subject and to give meaning to his action. For exemple, participants will discover : Who am I ? The one I think I am, or the one another claims that I am ? Me looking at myself or me through the eyes of another ? But when I look at myself, can I see the real me without an outside look which intervenes between myself and I ? Isn’t it always the other that send me back to who I am ? By searching our own patrimoine or traditions, anyone shall visit again his cultural identity, question it and, by doing so, open himself to other’s towards the construction of a strong european cultural identity taking care of everyone’s specificities. It is thanks to the confrontation of the other’s culture that representations, prejudices, clichés and preconceived ideas vanish. More, we are not alone. We live in a society, as savage as we can be. We live in groups, we define ourselves through those and we belong to them one way or another, or at least, a part of us does. The intercultural skill is then the possibility to talk with the other, to confront our own ideas and cultural references but also to make them evolve so as to become a more complete, and so freer human being. Through the contact with partners from several cultural spaces, our project offers to the participants the possibility to discover and understand other cultures and specificities that compose them. It will enable them to find out commun aspects while caring about the preservation of everyone’s identity towards the construction of a rich and well-balanced european identity which refuses uniformisation. It is in this context that every partners want to establish strong links based on respect, anyone else estime and mutual comprehension. This project will permit a finest comprehension of the complexity of cultural values, of the relationship between tradition and innovation, and of the synchronism of the differences of cultural values’ systems. Through the discovery, the study and the promotion of the traditions of each countries partners of this project, youths will be able to understand better values of contemporary Europe, to cern better stakes and perspectives that it carries. The approaches of the project favour collaboration between participants, autonomie and spirit of self-initiative. Within the framework of the project, the participants will be implied from the beginning in the choices linked to the setting up of activities leading to the comprehension of other’s traditions, the project’s aim being « unity in diversity ». In a european and globalized context, where concurrence constantly increase, our project wants to develop in youths participants a curiosity for other countries and the consciousness that professional mobility became a necessity, guarantee of competitiveness.
