"ULTRA, beyond exclusion" - how to efficiently use non-formal learning methods to foster inclusion
Start date: Jul 1, 2011,

The 7-day-lasting international training course ULTRA – beyond exclusion deals with how to efficiently use non-formal learning methods to sustainably foster inclusion and empower young people with limited access to civic life and self-realisation. It aims at enabling facilitators, trainers and activity leaders in international youth work and in Youth in Action projects to design, facilitate, debrief and reflect on non-formal learning processes and group dynamics of high impact, with a clear focus on inclusion groups. ULTRA comprises of intellectual, emotional and mainly practical/exercising elements. It provides the participants with an advanced possibility to acquire and exercise new tools and competences in non-formal education and inclusion work, to identify best practices, and to undergo a coached self-assessment resulting in a development and action plan for the professional future. The involved partner organisations get a chance to compare local realities, assess their own work and strategy in inclusion work, foster new partnerships and projects and to set up a development and action plan for their inclusion work. The working opportunities and competences built up during ULTRA will enable and encourage the partner organisations to add a strong perspective of innovation, inclusion and participation to their future activities, and also to raise the employability of their target groups.ULTRA will take place in the Irkutsk in the Russian Federation. The activity embraces partnerships of 19 organisations in 17 different countries from all over Europe, including all EECA countries, 20 participants, 2 international renowned YiA trainers, 1 experts and 1 support person.KEYWORDS/TAGS: inclusion, participation, innovation, employability, volunteerism, non-formal learning, training course, East-West co-operation
