Ulster Wildlife 2015
Start date: Jan 1, 2015, End date: Dec 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

This project, Ulster Wildlife 2015, will host 4 long term EVS volunteers on placements in Northern Ireland. The volunteers are from Czech Republic, Spain (2 volunteers) and France. Placements will be for 12 months starting in March 2015 (Czech and Spanish volunteers) and August (Spanish and French volunteers). The volunteers will be based in Ulster Wildlife where they will support the Reserves Teams with practical conservation activities to help protect our natural environment and preserve habitats to ensure biodiversity. Many of these reserves are open to the public who are encouraged to use the spaces to increase their health and wellbeing. Ulster Wildlife has been hosting EVS volunteers successfully for a number of years and this project builds on this success. The volunteers will gain new skills and competences, develop their linguistic abilities and undergo personal development. It is hoped that this will lead to increased employability for them in the future. The volunteers will help local communities to gain new knowledge and experience of environmental protection and biodiversity, as well as a greater European awareness through their contact with young Europeans. It is hoped that there will be increased health and wellbeing for all involved in the activities.
