Our organisation YMCA MZ NITRA works since year 2000. It si a part of the world wide YMCA World. This organisation aims to put Christian principles into practice by developing a healthy "body, mind, and spirit." These three angles are reflected by the different sides of the (red) triangle—part of all YMCA logos. The YMCA (Young Men’s Christian Association) is one of the oldest and largest Movements for youth in the world. The YMCA works to bring social justice and peace to young people and their communities, regardless of religion, race, gender or culture. Local and National YMCA Associations are strongly rooted in their communities. Depending on the local context and priority issues affecting young people, YMCAs operate in a wide range of programme areas.YMCA MZ NITRA helps to unemployed people , develop the european voluntary service. Organisation is open for everybody. We orgaise free-time activities, summer camps, international programs for youth and help with a charity. Our organisation works for many years with volunteers, cooperate with local schools, provide unformal education to volunteers. Our volunteers are involved into the activities - regular and irregular . The children from low income families can learn a lot from the international volunteers, because they do not have a possibilities to travel and they are for the first time in contact with volunteers. According to their knowledges volunteers are involved to the sport and creative activities. They also help to our partners and work on PC. We support own initiative of volunteers with their ideas and realisations. The project “We learn by playing” will be realized in Nitra, Slovak R. We will host 4 volunteers on short-term ( 3 months) EVS. The volunteers will come from The Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. These unemployed youth come from socially weak environment. Via nonformal education this project will bring the volunteers practical skills and develop their social sense. The project on one hand helps to destroy barriers and prejudices and on the other hand supports creativity development. Furthermore, the project helps to integrate the youth with fewer opportunities and integrates them in the socially more developed environment. This environment in Nitra is fulfilled with more different activities and incentives. The volunteers will be learning Slovak language with special focus on conversation. The volunteers will also be involved in organization of sport games for children and youth from the area of Klokočina. Moreover, the volunteers will also be responsible for maintaining of the playground and the green area around the premises of YMCA Nitra. By doing this they may involve the children and youth who use these playgrounds. Besides improving the communication and organization skills the regular sport activities will have an effect over the volunteers’ health and psychohygiene. Two creative local clubs are further possibility for involvement. We will also provide a space and help the volunteers to realize their own project/activity ideas. The volunteers will also have a place for their own innovative ideas in the creation of the flash mob activity on the topic of destroying barriers and prejudices and promoting friendship and love. Additionally, exists a possibility for taking part in integrative activities promoting health for youth, currently being implemented by the local volunteers. In month July there will be actiuvitties with the children daily youth camps. On this way in July they will undertake the role of a social worker and teacher. We believe that with all these activities we will succeed in our aim to overcome the barriers and prejudices towards other cultural for with less social advantaged youth. These new skills will improve their chances at the work market and contribute to personal development and greater selfconfidence, citizen responsibility and openness for other cultures. During the three months the volunteers will get in touch with employees in public adiminstration and also gain experience in holding public speeches. By being more active, openminded and involved in the public life in Nitra they will contribute to the increased acceptance and recognition of the intercultural cooperation and assistance in Nitra and wider.
